CYCLE4WATER: TOGETHER FOR CLEAN DRINKING WATER CYCLE4WATER is an initiative launched in 2023 by two friends, Daniel Schade (Shado) and Jörg Schubert (Schorsch), to support the valuable work of the well:fair foundation (formerly the Neven Subotic Foundation). The well:fair foundation is actively committed to improving access to clean drinking water and sanitary facilities in countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania. Worldwide, 771 million people have no access to clean drinking water. That is almost 10 times as many people as currently live in Germany. In addition, one in four people in the world has no access to a toilet. Diarrheal diseases caused by contaminated drinking water, lack of latrines and poor hygiene are among the leading causes of death in children under the age of five. The well:fair foundation combats this serious problem: The foundation promotes the construction of wells and sanitary facilities for schools and communities in Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania. Access to clean water, sanitary facilities and hygiene - WASH for short - is the basis for children attending school regularly. Education gives children a sustainable chance to lead a self-determined life - creating real prospects for the future. With CYCLE4WATER, we want to make a difference together with the cycling community and the cycling industry. We initiate and organize events, cycling events and rides to draw attention to the important issue of access to clean drinking water and generate donations for the well:fair foundation. We invite all cyclists to join us and take on social responsibility with us - and have lots of fun in the process!
