TEKTRO is a 35-year-old family-owned company based in Taiwan. Today, all major bicycle brands use Tektro brakes for their bikes. Bicycle manufacturers appreciate both the reliability and the high-quality production expertise of Tektro. In 1986, three friends Gary Chen, Leo Chen and Aver Tsai founded Tektro starting with only 20 employees in Changhua, Taiwan. The first factory was just the size of a basketball court and the monthly production capacity was 50,000 cantilever rim brakes. The corporate values of Gary, Leo and Aver were decisive which has led to their steadily growing success: In 2006, the high-end brand TRP – (Tektro Racing Products) was founded on the idea of building the highest quality braking systems available in the bicycle industry. TRP braking systems are designed for superior levels of performance and durability achieved through the use of advanced production techniques, accurate processing and meticulous quality control. By using exotic materials such as carbon fiber, titanium and TT6 aluminum, TRP brakes set a new industry standard for precise control. TRP brakes are extensively tested for reliability and safety on-road, off-road and in the laboratory by a company with over 35 years of experience designing and manufacturing bicycle brake systems.
